The Clubmans CSP2 class battle continues to hot up at Oulton Park. Michelle was lucky to avoid barriers in attempt to overtake Mathieu around outside of Old Hall

Some great entertainment for spectators with Wrexham racer Michelle Hayward taking final race win of the day at local track Oulton Park.

Race 1

After getting the class pole and a good start I had a big slide on lap 1 at the flat out Lakeside and Mat seized the opportunity to take a lunge up the inside of the Shell Oils hairpin. A few Classic A cars got between us so the majority of the race was frustrating as I could see Morris catching. When I finally got an opportunity to overtake Mat, albeit somewhat ambitious around the outside of Old Hall it nearly ended in disaster, narrowly missing the barrier I bounced along the grass, heaven knows how I didn’t obliterate the nose cone. I cruised to the line for P3, praying I hadn’t done too much damage. But had I overheated the engine ??

Race 2

She drank A LOT of water, and we burped her, and she ran like a dream. Phew

Another great start, bit unfortunate for Mat with his failure and Morris for his lockup, but hey I will take the win, and a new lap record, nice to finish the day with a smile. Thanks to Barry for once again giving me an amazing car, for not going mental with me for damaging the sidepod, again, for buying me a lovely new knob, gearKnob obvs, for my sponsors Paul and Les for contributing and all my family and friends who came to cheer me on, it was a fab day.
