Anticlimax to the end of the Clubmans season, with 50% of time spent behind safety car

Tough race day at Donington, stuck in a safety car train due to heavy rain in Qualifying, I just couldn’t get a clear road to set a decent lap time. With too much to do in Race 1, Mat took the class victory convincingly whilst I battled with the wide CSP1 car of Peter Richings. Race 2 was more exciting and did see me briefly take the lead on the approach to Redgate. I lost sight of Mat thinking he had gone to the outside, turned for the apex only to discover he had dived back to it. We avoided contact and I dropped back to line up for another go, but the race was red flagged. Had to settle for second best, again.

Truly had some great on track battles this year with Morris and Mat, the car has been so good, fast and reliable, a privilege to drive thanks to Barry.

Thanks to Phil Weaver for helping to make the last BBQ evening with the Clubmans family such a success, great way to end the season, and fundamentally …. we are the CSP2 Champions woohoo!!

Huge thanks to everyone who has sent me messages of encouragement throughout the year and to Paul and Les who have helped contribute towards the financial costs. I couldn’t have done this without you all.
